The spherical plain bearing is mainly composed of an outer ring and an inner ring. The inner spherical surface of the outer ring and the outer spherical surface of the inner circle form a rolling friction pair.

Operating temperature
The allowable operating temperature of the plain spherical bearings is mainly determined by the matching materials between the sliding surfaces of the bearings. In particular, the sliding surface of the plastic material of the self-lubricating spherical plain bearings tends to drop in load capacity at high temperatures. For example, when the sliding surface material of a lubricated spherical plain bearing is paired with steel/steel, the allowable operating temperature depends on the lubricant's allowable operating temperature. But for all lubricated and self-lubricated joint bearings, it can be used within the temperature range of -30 ℃ ~ + 80 ℃, and maintain the correct bearing capacity.
The spherical plain bearing's inclination angle is much larger than that of the general self-aligning rolling bearing. It is very suitable for use in the bearing parts where the concentricity is not high. The range of inclination of radial spherical plain bearings is 3 ° ~ 15 °, the range of angular contact spherical plain bearings is 2 ° ~ 3 °, and the range of thrust angular bearings is 6 ° ~ 9 °.
In any case, the selected fit of the joint bearing must not cause uneven deformation of the ring. The choice of the fit nature and grade must be determined according to the working conditions such as bearing type, support form, and load size.
Loading and unloading
The loading and unloading of plain spherical bearings should follow the principle that the force applied during assembly and disassembly cannot be directly transmitted through the spherical sliding surface. Also, auxiliary loading and unloading tools, such as sleeves, disassemblers, etc., should be used to direct and evenly apply the loading and unloading forces exerted by the outside world on the matched ferrules or dumped loading and unloading using auxiliary methods such as heating.
When assembling articulated bearing series, it is necessary to keep the position of the accidental ring dividing surface in particular. To avoid loads being used directly on the dividing surface, it is essential to maintain the dividing surface from the right angle to the matching direction.
When the speed of the applied load and the swinging motion is deficient, the oil-fed joint bearing can be operated without lubrication. Nonetheless, under normal circumstances, it is necessary to replenish grease regularly. During the initial installation and operation, It is recommended to shorten the lubrication time reasonably.
Non-lubricated spherical plain bearings can be used without lubrication. However, if lithium soap-based grease is added before the operation, the joint-bearing service life will be extended. The articulated bearing will be more effective against dust and foreign objects if the oil is injected into space around the bearing.
