Trends in CLC foaming agents

Gazprom recently said it had completely suspended gas supplies to Bulgarian Gas company and Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) because it was not being paid in rubles.  Russia said it would resume gas supplies after it agreed to pay for them in rubles.  

Bulgaria and Poland announced Monday that they have received a notice from Russia to suspend natural gas supplies from Monday.  

Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 31 signed a presidential decree to settle gas trade with "unfriendly" countries and regions in rubles.  When the new rules took effect on April 1, Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said Russia would not immediately "cut off gas" to Europe, as the cost of gas supplies starting April 1 should be settled in the second half of April or May.  

Because of the ever-changing international situation, the supply and prices of international bulk concrete foaming agents are still very uncertain.

There are three common foaming agents: animal, vegetable, and compound. Vegetable and animal foaming agents are most commonly used.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Various Foaming Agents

For vegetable foaming agents, rosin resin, alkyl sulfur, acid salts, and alkylbenzene sulfonates are the main raw materials. The formulation of vegetable foaming agents is simpler and the cost is lower than other kinds of foaming agents. However, the main defect of vegetable foaming agents is the poor foam stability and low strength. 

Animal foaming agents use animal protein as the main raw material, the foam strength and uniformity are better than that of vegetable foaming agents. But it is more expensive. And it has a short shelf life. Especially in the hot summer climate, the progress of the project will be prolonged, and more materials will be needed.

Compound foaming agents are developed by the composite method, which absorbs the advantages of vegetable and animal foaming agents and makes up for the shortcomings of both, so the compound foaming agent is the best choice in actual construction.

Various Composite Method

1. The complementary method 

In view of each component having its own advantages, combining multiple components can achieve complementary advantages. For example, some foaming agent has strong foaming ability but is not stable, we can use other types of foaming agents to help them achieve stability. If the foaming agent costs too much, we can compound it with other cheap foaming agents without damaging the overall performance.

2. The coordination method 

Sometimes, multiple compounds do not complement each other, but can be synergistic.  For example, the performance of the two or three is not good enough in one respect, but when they compound, the synergistic effect could be reached, so that the effect is greatly enhanced. The synergistic effect is the most common technical principle of various admixtures.

3. The synergistic method:

When the effect of some single component foaming agent is not good in a certain aspect, synergistic ingredients can be used to strengthen it, so that it becomes better than inferior. 

4. Increase function method:

Some foaming agents have less function and cannot meet the demand of a certain aspect of the product function, which can be solved by the method of admixture. 

The compound of lightweight concrete additives is a trend. Because even if the performance of a single variety is excellent, it is impossible to meet more and more stringent technical requirements.
